OnePlus 6, the new flagship smartphone from the Chinese startup, has scored 96 for its camera prowess on DxOMark Labs test. With a score of 96, OnePlus 6 continues to be a strong flagship that does not quit manage to be the best in the camera department as well.

Like its predecessor, the OnePlus 6 also features dual rear camera system comprising of a 16-megapixel optically stabilized main sensor with f/1.7 lens and a secondary 20-megapixel sensor with f/1.7 aperture. The dual camera system is aided by phase detection autofocus, a twin LED flash and support for capturing RAW images. It also record 4K videos at 30 or 60 frames per second and 1080p slow-motion videos at up to 240 frames per second.

In the DxOMark test, OnePlus 6 managed a total score of 96 which is a sum of photo and video sub-score. In the photo department, the smartphone has managed a healthy value of 100 while in the video department, it falls short with a score of 87. While consumers and critics have complained about the performance of autofocus, DxOMark has found the very attribute to be very fast and accurate.

In terms of imaging, OnePlus 6 has been found to produce pictures with bright colors and vivid contrast under various light sources. The test lab notes that exposure of subject is accurate and reliable with good balance between detail and noise. However, it does tend to produce noise in uniform areas and casts a pink color in visible outdoors. There is also occasional blur inaccuracies in bokeh mode, notes DxOMark in its test.

On the video front, the OnePlus 6 delivers with effective stabilization, fast autofocus, neutral white balance and low level of noise. However, it tends to lose detail in different lighting conditions and over-sharpens to compensate for lack of light source.
