Google has rolled out the latest flavor of its mobile operating system in the form of Android 9 Pie, and without any doubt, the Pixel devices and Essential Phone PH1 are the first to get the update. A bunch of other smartphone makers such as Nokia and Xiaomi have also rolled out Android 9 Pie beta. Surprisingly, OnePlus is the second manufacturer to rollout the stable version of the OS before others.
The OnePlus 6 has started receiving OxygenOS 9.0 update, yes it jumped from OxygenOS 5 to 9, but that also brings it in line with Android 9.0 Pie. It is a stable update that not only brings the new OS, but also brings battery improvements, UI changes and more. The changelog also mentions the new changes that include September security patch, adjustable settings for Do Not Disturb mode, Gaming Mode 3.0 with support for text notifications and third-party calls. Lastly, the update also comes with Android Pie gesture navigation support.
