OnePlus 6 was just launched in London. Now, the company is getting ready to launch the phone in India. The event is being hosted in Mumbai, and is expected to kick-off at 3PM IST. You can catch the event live on the company’s website or its YouTube and Facebook page.
OnePlus 6 features a lot of design changes compared to is predecessor. The phone now comes with a notched 6.28-inch display, like most other flagships. Another interesting change is the use of Gorilla Glass 5, at the back and at the front, replacing the metal build featured on its predecessor. However, this brings up an important question. How durable is the OnePlus 6? Zack Nelson from the popular YouTube channel JerryRigEverything tries to answer that question, with a quick durability test in his video.
If you aren’t able to watch the video, we can tell you that the phone holds up well in his test. Zack here is testing the Mirror Back variant of the phone, which he claims is super reflective. In his scratch test, the phone manages to avoid scratches till “level 6”. However, he also mentions that they are very minimal and deeper groves only appear on “level 7”. To give you an idea, the scratch test is rated from 1-10, where 1 is plastic and 10 is diamond.
Both the fingerprint sensor and the camera lens at the back, were able to avoid scratches, even when being scrapped on with a razor blade. The screen was also able to withstand his flame test for 20 seconds, after which the pixels being exposed died permanently. In the bend test, there was plenty of flex on the phone, but the glass build managed to get away without any cracks or kinks. Zack ended the video by claiming that the OnePlus 6 passed his durability test.
