OnePlus 6, the flagship smartphone was launched in May and the Chinese smartphone maker has released number of updates to keep the smartphone refreshed with latest features. While OxygenOS, the operating system on the global variant has received multiple updates, the company is bringing few new features to HydrogenOS, the operating system at the heart of Chinese version of OnePlus 6.
HydrogenOS is OnePlus’ Chinese version of their forked Android and it lacks Google Apps among other changes. The HydrogenOS has been depicted as the test platform for release of major features to OxygenOS. Whenever a new version of HydrogenOS is released in China, there is a confirmed release of a new OxygenOS for the global variant. OnePlus is currently pushing out HydrogenOS 5.1.11 to OnePlus 6 users in China and it brings fixes in key areas like standby, games, connectivity among others.
According to the changelog translated from Mandarin, the update brings system enhancements and new standby functions that need to activated manually. The update also improves the screen off gesture and ability to activate flash. It also improves camera clarity, WiFi stability and gaming with dual 4G network. There is also improvements to Bluetooth car connection and fixes some issue related to sound while playing games.
The key thing to take from this HydrogenOS update is the update to camera clarity and system enhancements. The global variant of OnePlus 6 is running OxygenOS 5.1.8 and users have reported about battery drain on their smartphone. It is possible that system enhancements address this issue and could be pushed out to global variant in the coming weeks.

The enhancements announced as part of HydrogenOS 5.1.11 should soon make its way to OxygenOS and OnePlus is already planning to release a new stable build this week.
