OnePlus 6, the next flagship smartphone, could be launched on May 21. The hype around OnePlus 6 is real but the launch date for the smartphone is turning out to be controversial. The new piece of information regarding the launch comes via company’s new LAB program. According to GSMArena, OnePlus owners received an email citing they have been selected to trial the new OnePlus phone before its official launch as part of OnePlus Lab program. Those who enrolled for the program received a confirmation email detailing all the terms and conditions and launch date for the smartphone. This particular accounts claims it will launch on May 21, the earliest launch of any OnePlus flagship in nearly four years. OnePlus has been building the hype like it does every year. The OnePlus 6 will drop the metal unibody design in favor of glass back and might also support wireless charging. It is expected to feature a 6.2-inch AMOLED display with a notch similar to that of Oppo F7 and Vivo V9. It is also likely to support IP67 water and dust resistance.
In terms of specifications, the OnePlus 6 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC coupled with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and upto 256GB storage. It is also offer improved dual rear camera setup and updated selfie camera. Other enhancements expected include a re-positioned alert slider that will also allow OnePlus 6 users to set focus within the camera menu. There are also chatters that OnePlus 6 will be more expensive than any of its predecessors.
