OnePlus has just announced the launch of the latest version of its Open Beta build, Open Beta 7 for OnePlus 6 users in the market. OnePlus also revealed that it is rolling out two new features along with this build for the device. OnePlus staff member Manu J who is responsible for Beta Program and Developer Relations shared this announcement in a dedicated post on the official forums. Taking a look at the changelog, in addition to including Video Enhancer feature and OnePlus Roaming, developers have also improved the UI for the emergency rescue. This new build has added vibration to the device when the user is disconnecting or hanging up a call. Users can also assign specific SIM to a specific group of contacts, or even individual contacts in case they are using dual-SIMs. Developers have also added the user agreement and privacy policy along with app drawer options to the OnePlus launcher with usual bug fixes and improvements in the performance. OnePlus Beta Program is similar to a public beta test that other software makers roll out. As part of this, interested users can install the Open Beta builds on their devices so that they can test out the latest features the company is testing. This also serves as a test field for the company where it can gather feedback, and then tweak the feature according to the feedback of users before rolling it out in the market.

One thing to note here is that Open Beta builds are not as reliable and users should only install them if they know what they are doing and can get back to installing the stable build. It is recommended that users do not install Open Beta software on their main smartphones.

Last but not least, let’s talk about the two new features that are part of the update, Video Enhancer, and OnePlus Roaming. Video Enhancer is a new display color mode that can be found in the Display options in the Settings. The company has tuned the display colors to offer a better experience while watching videos .

OnePlus Roaming is a new service that allows users to use the internet without the need for a local SIM card while traveling to a new country. The company claims that this service acts similar to a virtual SIM card while offering only data services globally in most of the countries and regions .

As part of the feature, the service will list all the data plans available in any given country or region along with the option to purchase the plan for Internet access without a new SIM. Users need to head to the OnePlus Roaming option under the Wi-Fi & Internet options in the Settings app.
