OxygenOS, the Android fork used by OnePlus, is easily one of the best custom builds of Google’s popular mobile operating system. It’s near-stock, and the little additions (e.g. system-wide dark mode) usually make the overall user experience better.

Just a week back, OnePlus announced the first Open Beta of OxygenOS for its current ‘flagship killer’ smartphone – OnePlus 6. Now, the company has released OxygenOS Open Beta 2 for the smartphone. According to a report by XDA-Developers, the second beta build, based on the latest Android 9.0 Pie, brings overall performance improvements and optimizations for the images captured using the front-facing camera. That said, being a beta build, the update does include some issues.

If you’re rocking a OnePlus 6 and want to try out the latest beta build of OxygenOS, you can download the full OTA upgrade file by looking it up online, and install the same by choosing the .zip file under the ‘Local Upgrade’ option in the device’s ‘System Update’ setting. It’s worth mentioning that using this method, your smartphone doesn’t need to be rooted.

OnePlus recently began offering a free Sandstone protective case with every OnePlus 6 purchased through Amazon India. This is in addition to the clear translucent case that already comes with the smartphone in the box.

Availing the offer is quite simple. All you have to do is add the Sandstone protective case to the cart along with OnePlus 6. The promotion will be automatically applied during checkout, with the case’s price automatically reduced from the total order price.
