The 2018 flagship phone from OnePlus, the OnePlus 6, is now receiving the latest version of OxygenOS through an OTA update. OxygenOS 5.1.11 is rolling out in a phased manner, and will reach all OnePlus 6 devices in the coming days through an OTA update. And while OnePlus users will be expecting an Android Pie update soon, this particular OTA does not bring the phone onto Pie; it’s still Android 8.1 Oreo for now. The new version brings a few changes, according to the official changelog posted on the OnePlus forum. There are optimizations for network connections, Wi-Fi connections and stability, a fix for a screen flickering issue in daylight, general bug fixes and improvements, the ability to confirm the security pin without tapping the tick button, and improvements to HDR mode for the camera. While there aren’t many improvements that may be visible on the face of it, one big improvement that users will appreciate is the ability to enter the pin without having to tap the tick icon. The setting can be chosen from within the settings, and users have the option to keep the tick selection option active if they wish. It’s particularly useful when rebooting the phone, since you cannot use fingerprint or face unlock when doing so, and must enter the pin the first time after start-up.
