The OnePlus 6 Silk White Edition comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.
The variant is priced at Rs 39,999, the same as other 8GB RAM / 128GB storage variants of the phone.
The matte finish on the phone makes grime and fingerprints less visible on the Silk White edition.
The OnePlus 6 launched a couple of weeks ago, and has already gone on to become the highest ever grossing revenue smartphone sold on Amazon India. And interestingly, it s done all of this by selling phones that are black in color, although there are admittedly three shades of black here. Whether it s the mirror black, midnight black or Avengers Limited Edition (which also happens to be black), all OnePlus 6 devices sold in India are dark shades. But if you haven t bought your OnePlus 6 yet, from June 5 onwards you ll have a new option when it comes to colors. The Silk White limited edition of the OnePlus 6 is available only in the 8GB RAM / 128GB storage configuration, and is priced at Rs 39,999. Glass, but doesn t quite look like it
The OnePlus 6 has been designed with a glass back, and no matter which variant you pick up, the back will be the same material. However, the mirror black and Avengers editions of the phone come with a glossy finish that makes the back of the phone very reflective. The downside of the reflectivity is that it also shows grime particularly evidently.
Like the midnight black variant, the silk white option has a matte finish, and thus reflects much less light than the glossy versions. It has a dull sheen to it, which I frankly prefer to the shinier versions. The upside of the matte finish is that grime isn t quite as clearly visible, and you won t feel the need to obsessively clean it every time you look at it.
Hints of golden
While the accents on the black variants are unsurprisingly black, the frame and buttons on the OnePlus 6 Silk White Limited Edition are a soft shade of gold, which is similar to the soft gold color variant of the OnePlus 5. It s a nice shade of gold that will particularly appeal to the Indian buyer, and I have heard from a few ladies that think the Silk White and its gold accents are better looking than the black options.
Also getting the gold accents are the fingerprint sensor, OnePlus logo at the back and the Designed by OnePlus callout at the bottom of the back panel, while the ring around the camera bump is a clear silver. On the whole, the Silk White variant looks interesting, and definitely different from what we ve typically seen from OnePlus.
Any other differences?
Well, no. It s a typical OnePlus 6 under the hood, with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, which you also get with the existing mirror black and midnight black variants. There is no 6GB/64GB option available in Silk White, so if your budget can t go beyond Rs 35,000, you re out of luck. The software, internal components and wallpapers are all the same, and the box contains some typical literature along with one standard Dash Charger and cable.
Unlike the Avengers Edition, there are no special wallpapers or themes either. And if you want the 256GB variant of the phone, for now you have no choice but to pick up the Avengers Edition whether you re a fan of Marvel s popular movie series or not. The differences are purely aesthetic, and the phone is the same no matter what.

The color options on the OnePlus 6 are admittedly more than they have been with previous devices, and that can only be a good thing. The use of glass this time means that OnePlus has also been able to play with the idea of glossy and matte finishes. The Silk White edition with its matte finish and understated white color will definitely appeal to a large set of buyers.
However, the lack of a 6GB/64GB variant will put this color option out of reach for some buyers, who may opt for the more affordable mirror black edition simple because of the Rs 5,000 price difference. Since Silk White is a limited edition, it s unlikely that it will later come in the 6GB RAM variant, although we won t rule out the possibility of a 256GB storage option coming later.
