OnePlus has just started rolling out the OxygenOS Open Beta version 6 for its OnePlus 6 users in the market. As announced earlier, this new update brings a number of small changes to the software in addition to a recently announced new feature, Nightscape. For the uninitiated who may not have followed the OnePlus 6T launch as closely, Nightscape is a new feature by OnePlus to improve the images shot during night time. This feature launched along with the OnePlus 6T and instead of keeping it exclusive to the latest smartphone in the market, the company announced that it will bring the feature to the now older OnePlus 6.

As mentioned above, the new update also brings a number of smaller changes to the operating system. These changes also include slight changes in the OnePlus launcher and the Gallery of the device. Coming to the changes in the system, Open Beta 6 will come with new navigation gestures, a revamped UI for the ‘About Phone’ section, improvements in the user experience while taking screenshots and as mentioned previously, updating the Android security patch level to November 2018. Talking about other updates, the launcher has received a new Google quick search bar.

Last but not the least, the company seems to have focused on improving the Gallery experience for its users by making a number of tweaks. These tweaks include improving the zoom in and zoom out experience while looking at images, more photos on preview in the “Photo” tab and swipe-down section to go back to the timeline while checking any photo.

This new update comes days after the company announced the latest Open Beta versions for the OnePlus 5 and 5T devices in the market. To clarify, the Open Beta program is similar to a public beta test by other software companies that allow day-to-day users help the company test the latest software. Open Beta is expected to be not as stable as the stable builds that OnePlus rolls out every couple of months.
