Apart from sporting the 3.5mm audio jack, the OnePlus 6 has another key piece of tech added to make it a bit more audio-friendly. OnePlus has worked with Dirac, a Swedish company that specializes in audio optimization and tuning, to include some of its sound correction and optimization technologies in the smartphone. Dirac’s Power Sound and HD Sound technologies can be found in the OnePlus 6.
Dirac has been working with OnePlus for some time now, and has helped tune the sound in its smartphones since the OnePlus 2 that was launched in 2015. That collaboration has continued trough the years, and the Chinese smartphone maker has once again worked with the Swedish company for its latest smartphone. The company has worked closely with OnePlus during the development of the OnePlus 6, providing inputs to help get the sound output from the speaker and headphone port to the company’s specifications.

“At the core of both of these innovative audio solutions lies our desire to eliminate the notion that mobile devices, due to their physical properties, have limits with regard to the audio quality they can deliver,” said Erik Rudolphi, Dirac’s General Manager of Mobile. “Dirac Power Sound and Dirac HD Sound challenge the audio constraints inherent in these devices and offer a rich, full and premium listening experience – as evidenced in the new OnePlus 6.”
Of course, while Dirac’s technology works with the speaker and 3.5mm jack on the phone, OnePlus has also launched the OnePlus Bullets Wireless, priced at Rs 3,990. The wireless headphones feature a neckband-style design, with an in-ear fit and Bluetooth connectivity. OnePlus’ continued use of the 3.5mm audio jack also makes it a top choice among users that are looking for a smartphone that allowed wired headphone connectivity.
