Soon after the global launch, OnePlus has launched its OnePlus 6 flagship smartphone in India. The smartphone comes with a number of changes such as a display with notch, glass back, faster chipset, more storage and improved cameras compared to its predecessor, OnePlus 5T. At its price point, the closest competitor is the Honor 10. We pitted both smartphones against each other based on their price, specifications and features, and here’s how they fare.
Price in India and availability
The OnePlus 6 is priced at Rs 34,999 for the base variant with 64GB storage, and Rs 39,999 for the 128GB storage model, whereas the top-end model (Marvel Avenger Limited Edition) with 256GB storage will set you back by Rs 44,999. It will be exclusively available via Amazon India starting May 21 for Prime subscribers, and open sale will begin on May 22. The Avengers edition will be available starting May 29.
The Honor 10, on the other hand, is only available in one variant, and it will set you back by Rs 32,999. The smartphone has gone on pre-order, and shipping will start from May 23. It is available exclusively via Flipkart.
Look and feel
Glass is the new metal. Yes, a couple of years ago, premium phones featured a full metal unibody design, and now the same can be found on affordable smartphones too. The new rage of premium smartphones is the front and back glass design with a metal frame. And the Honor 10 and OnePlus 6 brings exactly that, and they both look gorgeous. Sadly, neither of the phones support wireless charging.

Both the OnePlus 6 and Honor 10 feature full-screen displays with 19:9 aspect ratio and a “notch” on top. The OnePlus 6 comes with a 6.28-inch full HD+ display, whereas the Honor 10 is slightly more compact with a 5.84-inch display.
Chipset, RAM and storage
At the heart of the OnePlus 6 runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core SoC paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage. Other variants with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage are also available. The Honor 10, on the other hand, is powered by Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 970 octa-core SoC with a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU), and is paired with 6GB of RAM with 128GB storage. Neither of the smartphones support expandable storage.
Both smartphones feature dual cameras at the back. The OnePlus 6 comes with a 16-megapixel primary camera supplemented with a 20-megapixel secondary camera. Both cameras work in tandem to add DSLR-like bokeh effects to your photos, and the secondary camera also helps in achieving 2X lossless optical zoom functionality. OnePlus will also be rolling out an update that will add Augmented Reality (AR) stickers. Up front, is a 16-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling. The camera will also support portrait mode with the coming update.
In case of Honor 10, you get a dual camera setup at the back with a primary 16-megapixel color sensor of f/1.8 aperture, and a 24-megapixel secondary monochrome sensor that aids in low-light scenario. It also includes AI features for beauty mode and object recognition that can recognize human, animal, greenery and sky from the image and improve the photos. Up front is a 24-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling.
Battery and OS
To keep things ticking, the OnePlus 6 comes with a 3,300mAh battery with support for Dash charging, whereas the Honor 10 comes with a slightly larger 3,400mAh battery with fast charging support. Both smartphones run Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box, with the OnePlus 6 featuring OxygenOS skin, and the Honor 10 running EMUI skin on top.
Connectivity and security
Both smartphones come with dual SIM card slots, 4G LTE with VoLTE connectivity, Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi. For security, the OnePlus 6 comes with a fingerprint sensor placed at the back, and supports Face Unlock too. The Honor 10, on the other hand, comes with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor on the front, placed just below the screen. Face Unlock feature is also supported on the smartphone.
