OnePlus 6T AnTuTu, Geekbench benchmark scores are an improvement over OnePlus 6

While most of the specifications are the same, the OnePlus 6T likely benefits from Android 9 Pie to produce higher benchmark scores.

The new OnePlus 6T makes small changes to the feature set and display, and also packs a larger 3,700mAh battery. But under the hood, the specifications are largely the same as that of the OnePlus 6. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, the OnePlus 6T is, at least on paper, as powerful as its predecessor. However, likely thanks to running Android 9 Pie under an ever-improving OxygenOS UI, the OnePlus 6T manages to improve on benchmark scores a little bit. We ran AnTuTu and Geekbench on our review device (8GB RAM+128GB storage), and were impressed with the results. After three runs of each, we’ve selected the median scores from each benchmarking app. Also Read - OnePlus Nord confirmed to feature selfie camera with 105-degree ultra wide-angle lens

Looking first at Geekbench, we see that the single-core score of Rs 2,409 is practically the same as the 2,407 score of the OnePlus 6. While various iPhone models, including the new iPhone XS Max and various older models also have higher single-core scores, on the Android platform, the OnePlus 6T is only outranked by the Exynos-powered Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, Xiaomi Black Shark, and Vivo NEX.

The multi-core score of 8,959 on the OnePlus 6T is slightly higher than the 8,880 score on the OnePlus 6, and ranks it firmly at the top among Android phones for now. As is the case with the single-core scores, the OnePlus 6T is outranked by a number of Apple devices even in the multi-core rankings.

Looking at AnTuTu, the OnePlus 6T sees a big improvement. With a score of 297,146, the OnePlus 6T is ahead of the 289,424 average score of the OnePlus 6. This also puts it ahead of the Xiaomi Black Shark, but just short of the current highest ranking Android smartphone on AnTuTu, the Asus ROG Phone with a score of 299,706.

OnePlus 6T specifications and features

The OnePlus 6T is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, has a slightly larger 6.41-inch full-HD+ AMOLED screen, and sports a larger 3,700mAh battery. Charging sticks to OnePlus popular Dash Charge standard (simply called fast charging in certain markets). The phone comes with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, with the base variant starting at 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

Another key change in the OnePlus 6 is the omission of the 3.5mm jack; OnePlus has included a USB Type-C to 3.5mm dongle in the sales package, and has also launched its own Bullets Type-C headphones. The signature feature is the in-display fingerprint sensor, which works through the screen of the phone.
