The OnePlus 6T has just been launched, and goes on sale today on Amazon India. For the time being though, there are just two color options for the new phone: Mirror Black (with a glossy finish) and Midnight Black (with a dull finish). The phone is available in various RAM and storage configurations, ranging from 6GB RAM and 128GB storage to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. However, a new leak indicates that a third color option could be coming soon: Thunder Purple.
The new color option hasn’t been confirmed by OnePlus yet, but seems to based on a solid piece of information. The tip comes courtesy of leakster Ishan Agarwal, who had earlier tweeted that a purple color option could be in the works. Further, an Amazon Germany listing had also mentioned the Thunder Purple variant before it was later removed.
The leakster has now spotted a listing on the OnePlus India support page that points to the Thunder Purple variant coming soon. At the time of writing, the Thunder Purple listing has been removed from the site, with only the Mirror Black and Midnight Black variants of the OnePlus 6T listed alongside older OnePlus products.

The variant could be launched in the coming weeks, as OnePlus is known to introduce different color variants in the weeks after the initial launch. Last year saw the Star Wars Limited Edition of the OnePlus 5T launched about a month after the phone was unveiled, while this year saw the Silk White and Red editions of the OnePlus 6 launch in the weeks following the main launch in May.

Perceived as ‘safe’ colors, OnePlus tends to stick with its mirror black and midnight black options for higher volumes, although the new Thunder Purple color option could appeal to a lot of buyers that think black is ‘boring’. The OnePlus 6T goes on sale today starting at Rs 37,999, although you can get it at an effective price of Rs 34,999 if you know what to do.
