After launching the flagship smartphone, OnePlus 6T, in October, the Chinese smartphone maker has now announced a special edition of the device. Called OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition, the new variant features the signature McLaren color, Papaya Orange that races around the bottom edge of the smartphone, and fades into black. There is also the carbon fiber pattern under the glass back which offers a distinct look and feel to it.

It’s the start of an exciting partnership with McLaren, giving people a feeling of incredible speed and performance,” said OnePlus CEO Pete Lau.

OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition price, availability
The special edition OnePlus device is priced at £649, which is approximately Rs 60,000. The smartphone will be available starting December 13 in India, North America, and Western Europe. The India launch is set for tomorrow, and it remains to be seen how aggressive OnePlus can go with the pricing. It will be available to purchase exclusively via Amazon India.
OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition specifications and features
Just like the OnePlus 6T, the McLaren Edition smartphone also comes with a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a waterdrop style notch. Under the hood is a Snapdragon 845 octa-core SoC paired with 10GB of RAM and 256GB storage.
In the photography department, you get dual cameras at the back featuring 16-megapixel + 20-megapixel sensors, and a 16-megapixel front camera. For security, there is an in-display fingerprint scanner and face unlock feature. Connectivity options include dual SIM card slots, Bluetooth, 4G LTE with VoLTE and GPS. On the software front, the smartphone comes with Android 9 Pie OS out of the box.
To keep things ticking, the smartphone comes with a 3,700mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging tech called “Warp Charge”. OnePlus says that even 20 minutes of charging can offer full-day worth battery backup.
