OnePlus will be getting the special edition of the OnePlus 6T on December 12 in India. The Chinese smartphone maker has already listed the smartphone teaser with a ‘Notify Me’ option on Amazon India. The device will be called the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition, and it will be themed on lines of the McLaren Formula One racing team and supercar manufacturer.
It is speculated that OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition will retain same internals of the regular OnePlus 6T. However, some aspects may see an upgrade. According to recent Weibo post (via GizChina), it appears that OnePlus will ship the McLaren Edition with a better and faster charging option.
The regular OnePlus 6T uses a 5W/4A 20W fast charging technology like the previous generation, but for the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition, the company is likely to borrow the 50W Super VOOC charging technology from OPPO R17 Pro. Both companies are part of BBK Electronics, hence this is very much possibility. Even the Dash Charge Standard is effectively the same as VOOC charging, so the technologies seem interchangeable.
Other changes could be in the RAM department. Earlier reports indicated that the phone could sport a massive 10GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
