Earlier this week, OnePlus launched a special variant of OnePlus 6T, its latest and greatest ‘flagship killer’ smartphone. Dubbed OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition, the ‘new’ smartphone was announced at OnePlus’ ‘Salute to Speed’ event in Mumbai.
Designed in collaboration with British automotive company McLaren (hence the name), OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition will go on sale at midnight tonight. In case you’re planning to buy one, here’s everything you need to know.
OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition: Sale details, price, and offers
The ‘new’ OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition will be made available for purchase at 12 AM (December 15) via flash sale. As always, we advise getting online a few minutes before the sale’s commencement (on a fast and reliable network connection) to increase your chances, since limited units are going to be available for sale. Like all OnePlus smartphones, this one is also exclusive to Amazon India.
Priced at Rs 50,999, OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is the company’s most-expensive smartphone till date. However, there are a couple of offers customers can take advantage of. Those who pay using Axis Bank credit/debit card stand to get a discount of up to Rs 2,000, and there’s ‘No Cost EMI’ up to 6 months as well. Furthermore, you can get a discount of up to Rs 3,000 by exchanging your old smartphone.
OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition: Specifications and features
For the most part, OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is similar to the regular OnePlus 6T. That said, there are some key differences. To begin with, the McLaren Edition comes with an insane 10GB of RAM, which makes it one of the few smartphones currently available with this much amount of memory. As you’d expect, there’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC at the helm, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The smartphone features ‘Warp Charge 30’, a rebranded and slightly-advanced version of OnePlus’ famous ‘Dash Charge’ technology.
Visually, the biggest differentiator of OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is its Papaya Orange color scheme. The smartphone’s rear panel features a carbon fiber pattern, giving it a distinct appearance. The back panel also has a McLaren logo, in addition to the OnePlus logo.
Even the accessories included in the box (charger, USB-C cable, and 3.5mm audio dongle) have a dual-tone (Black and Papaya Orange appearance.

Other than that, most of the features remain unchanged. You still get a 6.41-inch Full-HD+ Optic AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels and a ‘waterdrop’ notch. The in-screen fingerprint sensor is there as well.
For imaging, OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition features a dual-lens rear camera system with one 16-megapixel unit and one 20-megapixel unit. There’s also a 16-megapixel front-facing lens for selfies and video calls. The smartphone is backed by a 3,700mAh battery.
