OnePlus 6T is the next big launch from the company and we are just a week away from the launch. We have numerous leaks of the OnePlus 6T and have a pretty solid idea what the phone would be like. Apart from the supposed hardware specs, the OnePlus 6T is expected to feature a waterdrop notch instead of the notch seen in the previous edition. It is also expected that OnePlus will be omitting the 3.5 mm audio port in favor of type-C headphones. But these are all just speculations and will only be confirmed once the smartphone launches next week.
And now Pete Lau, the CEO of OnePlus has taken to Weibo to post a number of images of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS which we expect will be a car that the OnePlus 6T Porsche Edition will be based on. Though the post does not specifically talk about the OnePlus 6T, the timing is indicative that it might be the Porsche Edition of the smartphone that is in the works. Other brands like Oppo and Huawei have also worked with car manufacturers to bring special editions of smartphones.
The OnePlus 6T is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, and will come with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It’s also likely that the phone will launch with Android 9 Pie out of the box, given that the company has already rolled out the software for the OnePlus 6.
The metal frame and glass back remain in place, with the new phone sporting a core design that is largely similar to its predecessor.

In terms of pricing, the OnePlus 6T could be priced at around the same as that of the OnePlus 6, for equivalent variants. In line with the company’s typical way of doing things, the OnePlus 6 could be discontinued on launch of the new phone. OnePlus is set to launch the OnePlus 6T on October 16 globally, with a launch event for India likely to take place on October 17.
