The OnePlus 6 has been on sale for close to four months now, which is a long time by smartphone standards. And by OnePlus standards, we’re looking at only about two more months of the device being the company’s flagship. We’re likely to see the OnePlus 6T announced in a couple of months, and the rumor mill has kicked off with the first ‘leak’ regarding the upcoming smartphone.
While not exactly a big leak, this one does give a bit away. Android Pure has come across what appears to be the retail box of the OnePlus 6T. While a box would ordinarily not have too much information available, this particular box has an outline of the phone which gives away a couple of key features: an in-display fingerprint sensor and a ‘waterdrop’ notch for the front camera.
Also given away by the box is the specific slogan for the OnePlus 6T, which seems to be ‘Unlock the speed’. However, this could well be a tentative slogan that will be changed closer to the launch date, and the retail box itself is likely to be an early design that may not even be the final variation. Nonetheless, these two key changes will represent a big shift for OnePlus, as it adopts more modern features going forward.

In terms of expected specifications, the OnePlus 6T, like the OnePlus 6, is likely to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, and will come with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The phone could launch with Android 9.0 Pie out of the box, particularly considering that OnePlus has already rolled out the Android Pie-based OxygenOS Open Beta 1 for the OnePlus 6.
