For those waiting, OnePlus has finally revealed when its smartphones will be updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The OnePlus One will be the first smartphone to get the Marshmallow update, since Cyanogen has already been working on the update. The company will start seeding the update sometime in the first quarter of next year. Those handsets running on Oxygen OS will have to wait a bit since there is no clear timeline at the moment. The OnePlus 2 will be next in line and it too will be updated sometime in the first quarter of next year. Again, there is no specific date, but the company says that it will allow users and developers to use the default Google API for the fingerprint scanner.
The recently launched OnePlus X too is slated to get the Android Marshmallow update, but the company doesn t reveal a timeline. With both the aforementioned smartphones getting an update in the first quarter, the OnePlus X could get the update in the second quarter.

OnePlus is the latest company to announce a timeline for Marshmallow rollout. HTC, Motorola, Sony, Honor, Lenovo, and LG were among the first to announce the timeline. Samsung may not have made an official announcement, but a roadmap leaked earlier today reveals when its Galaxy smartphones are slated for an update.
