OnePlus Asphalt Cup launched in India; will offer prize money and OnePlus 6 smartphones

OnePlus demonstrates power of its OnePlus 6 flagship smartphone with OnePlus Asphalt Cup.

OnePlus and Gameloft have launched a new exclusive online racing championship called ‘OnePlus Asphalt Cup’ in India. The contest, being held from June 13 through July 8, is open to all mobile-gaming enthusiasts in the country who will compete in Asphalt 8: Airborne, the racing title from Gameloft. OnePlus says the contest is spread over four weeks with four time-limited events of five days each. The racers are allowed to play unlimited times to become the top-scorer in the month-long event. The top-five racers each week will win a pair of OnePlus’ latest Bullets Wireless Bluetooth earphones. The top-25 racers stand a chance to win exclusive goodies from OnePlus and Gameloft.

At the end of the 4-week long event, the top three winners will win a combined cash prize worth Rs 900,000. The winners also receive OnePlus 6 smartphone and Bullets Wireless Bluetooth earphones. These participants will also receive In-Game rewards in Asphalt 8 worth more than 20 million rupees every week.

“Bringing together the newest technology and raw performance of OnePlus 6 in association with Asphalt 8, the best mobile racing title by Gameloft, ‘OnePlus Asphalt Cup’ is dedicated to the gaming community in India,” said Vikas Agarwal, General Manager, OnePlus India.

“This endeavour with OnePlus demonstrates our ability to generate special initiatives in our games with hyper-real graphics providing high engagement for end-users,” added Nitin Goel, Country Manager, Indian-subcontinent, Gameloft.

OnePlus is known for its huge fan following, and has one of the highest engagements among all smartphone brands in the country. With the OnePlus Asphalt Cup, the company is in a unique position to demonstrate its engagement and power of its latest flagship smartphone.

To recall, OnePlus 6 was launched last month with a 6.28-inch notched display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, up to 8GB of RAM, and 256GB internal storage. The smartphone also comes with dual 16-megapixel and 20-megapixel rear cameras, and a 16-megapixel front camera. The device runs OxygenOS based on Android Oreo, and is backed by a 3,300mAh battery. The OnePlus 6 is available in Midnight Black, Mirror Black and Silk White colors at a starting price of Rs 34,999, exclusively on Amazon India.
