OnePlus is set to unveil the OnePlus 2 to the world on July 27. In a first by any smartphone company, OnePlus is conducting a unique virtual reality event, and has created its own custom Cardboard VR for the big unveil. Now, the company has announced how users in India can get their hands on the VR headset for participating in the launch event. Apart from giving the headset away for free to a few winners chosen by the company, it will also make it available on Amazon India for Rs 99 per piece (shipping cost will be additional). The headset will be made available in the third week of July, with the company stating that a tangible date will be announced soon. Apart from buying it from Amazon India, users can also grab the headset for free by participating in OnePlus’ contest currently running on their forums page. The contest will shut tomorrow, and the company will choose winners at random.
OnePlus is leaving no stones unturned to tune up the excitement around the OnePlus 2 launch. It is revealing spec details of the upcoming flagship bit by bit to keep the buzz going. So far, the company has confirmed that the OnePlus 2 will have the USB Type C port, fingerprint scanner and will be powered by an improved Snapdragon 810 processor.
Furthermore, rumored spec details include a 5.5-inch full HD (1920 1080 pixels) display, and will be priced upwards of $322 (Rs 20,540 approximately). It could flaunt a 3GB of RAM, 16-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel selfie camera, and on the software front, Android 5.1 Lollipop (wrapped under Oxygen OS in India/Hydrogen OS in China).
