Ahead of its India launch, Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus has announced that Indian users who already bought the OnePlus One smartphone from its website will be able to avail the warranty coverage and after-sales service in the country.
On the company’s forum, the recently hired Vikas Agarwal, General Manager of OnePlus operations in India relieved several users who had already managed to grab the device from the company’s website. “Since we will have local representation, Indian customers who have already bought the global version of the One from our official site, oneplus.net, can have their product serviced in India”. Users who purchased the Chinese variant of the OnePlus One handset won’t be able to avail the Indian warranty coverage, as per a report on Gizchina.
OnePlus has already announced its plans to release the phone in the world’s second most populous nation. The company announced earlier this month that it will be launching the 64GB variant of OnePlus One in India with a price tag under Rs 25,000. The company also announced that it will be selling the phone in the country via a special invite system. It further noted that it was looking to partner with Indian carriers and retail partners for a smooth experience among users. Earlier this morning, Aircel teased its tie-up with OnePlus.
Meanwhile, OnePlus will be having another round of global pre-order today. The pre-order window will begin at 9.30pm IST and last for one hour. The company assures that it has employed more servers this time to avoid the glitches it had run into last time.
