OnePlus has updated its gallery app to add new features, which includes new video editing tools that allow users to trim videos, add background soundtracks, and apply filters. The update also brings slow-motion video editing tools and additional bug fixes. Most of these features have already been available for the OnePlus 6, but the update now brings the same features to the company’s older phones, including the OnePlus 5, OnePlus 5T, OnePlus 3, and OnePlus 3T.
This latest update also enables enhanced video editing features for some of OnePlus‘ older phones. While the open beta program for some of the older OnePlus phones may have included these features, the universal roll-out now means that all users have access to it. If you have the updated app on your phone, you can now use the OnePlus Gallery app to trim, and edit videos directly on the device. While most gallery apps allow users to edit images, video editing is a function that few manufacturers offer.
The update also allows users to edit slow-motion video on the device, letting you set the point where the video switches to slow-motion while leaving the rest at regular speed. While the video editor shows up only when you tap the edit button for normal video, in the case of slow-motion video, the editor is the default view when you open such a video on the app. Older OnePlus devices allow 120fps slow-motion video, while the OnePlus 6 steps up the frame-rate to allow even 240fps and 480fps video.

Earlier, OnePlus users would have to use third-party apps to edit videos on the device, with the gallery app only allowing users to view videos. The ability to trim and add background music is a very useful addition for those who shoot a lot of video on their devices.
