Cyanogen also announced that it will roll out the Lollipop based update to Yu Yureka users soon. However, the company refrained from giving a specific timeline for the roll out. For all the OnePlus One users, the OTA update will be gradual, therefore do not fret if it doesn’t reach your smartphone immediately. It might take a while, as Cyanogen may be phasing the roll out geographically.
OnePlus One users will get a notification of the system update, and they can even go and check it manually in their Settings menu. It is recommended to install the update through a strong Wi-Fi connection along with good juice left on the smartphone. We also suggest to free up some space to avoid any hiccups.
The Cyanogen OS 12 comes with a new interface based on Android Lollipop’s material design. It comes with a new feature called App Themer which lets you manually theme each of your individual apps. There are a bunch of themes that come with this update, and the company has even introduced paid themes for more options.
There is a whole new redesigned email app, which comes with handy features like exchange support, multiple account integration, and canned responses for quick replies. The customization level has increased and it lets you manually choose what happens with each swipe, the tone alert for email and even the color of LED light to notify you of a message.
Apart from the Cyanogen OS 12, Indian users also have the option to download Oxygen OS on their OnePlus One. Oxygen OS is a custom-built ROM by OnePlus following the legal battle between Yu over Cyanogen exclusivity. For now though, Carl Pei has confirmed that Indian users will get the OS 12 update.
