OnePlus has posted a new list of promises to its fans on its official forums. This list is part of its key actions update where the company details what actions it has taken to improve its products and services after conducting three Open Ears Forums across the globe. For the people who don’t know and may not have been following OnePlus, Open Ears Forums is a new platform started by the company where it meets with select fans to discuss their feedback about its products including any and all problems that may need fixing. The list also serves as the progress that the company has made with regards to specific issues noted during these Open Ears Forum meetups. The list focuses on three things, the Camera on the OnePlus devices, customer service, and OxygenOS. This list comes days before the company is set to host its first OnePlus Ear Forums meeting in India where the company is likely to gather more feedback about its devices including its latest flagship, the OnePlus 6 as it is the first meetup after the launch. The company conducted its camera-focused meetup at Humburg in Germany where it noted all the feedback and expectations of camera enthusiasts to optimize the experience on OnePlus devices. As part of the feedback, the company has fixed compatibility issues with most third-party camera-based apps in its OnePlus 5 and 5T. The company promised that it will bring the compatibility fixes to OnePlus 3 and 3T in the next official update. The company also added the feature where the camera would remember user-defined HDR settings when the app is opened again in OxygenOS 5.1.0 update for OnePlus 5 and 5T.

OnePlus is also working on fixing the oil painting effect on its devices and it recently launched the optimized version of its camera for OnePlus 5 and 5T. The company is planning to launch the second version soon and will launch in the official update after the optimizations are stable. The company is still working on optimizing the editing experience in the Gallery collections and it is hoping that there’ll be a fix in the next few months . OnePlus also promised that it is working on an improved panorama experience and it is planning to launch the fix by the end of the year.
OnePlus Customer Service
The company hosted its second meetup in Stockholm, Sweden to focus on its customer service. The company claims that it has been working hard over past two months to deliver on the promises that the company made during the meetup. According to the forum post, the company has worked on introducing very simple animation walkthrough video to make its users better understand how its remote session works along with a number of video guides. It will add the warranty and security terms to its remote sessions soon .
OnePlus customer support team has spent a significant amount of time to improve the response of its agents including their skill, and knowledge. It has also launched its new self-service and repair cost page so that users can check the prices of its spare parts. It has also worked with its community team to improve the search filters while fixing the search result mismatch bug . The company has worked with its partners to reduce the turn-around time for its repairs by 50 percent in North America and about 30 percent in Europe. It is also working with its partners to give a less technical report to the customers so that they can better understand what was done during the repairs.
It is also working on a diagnostics tool that the company launched during the Open Ears Forum meetup back in 2017. The tool is under testing and will be soon available for its customers.
OxygenOS and Android P update for OnePlus
The company held its OxygenOS-focused Open Ears Forum meetup in San Francisco and as part of the meetup, the company recently announced its Software Maintenance Schedule . As part of the announcement, the company committed to providing two years of regular software updates to its devices and about one year additional worth of Android Security patches update. The company also launched Android 8.1 Oreo update for OnePlus 5 and 5T earlier this year while hinting at Android P update later this year.
It is working on bringing the Ring, Vibrate, and Silent mode in the Alert Slider to OnePlus 5 and 5T. The company has already launched it for the OnePlus 6. OnePlus has also added accent color customization to OnePlus 5 and 5T in the latest Open Beta update and it will release the feature for OnePlus 3, 3T, and 6 after the feature is stable. The company has also added full support for Camera2 API to all its devices and it is working on fixing comparability issues in future updates.
OnePlus has also added support to migrate application data with the help of OnePlus Switch. It is also working on adding a new feature that allows users to call out for different user group based on specific SIMs.
