It’s no secret that brands are conscious about their image, and are generally sensitive about negative reviews. While that is understandable, it becomes a problem when companies start clamping down on the visibility of such reviews. Now, OnePlus has been accused of doing such a thing.
Reddit user u/ftblwolf has put a spotlight on how OnePlus processes user reviews on its online stores. The person posted a not-so-positive review of the OnePlus 6T tempered glass protector on the company’s online store only to see it being removed in a matter of days, AndroidHeadlines reports.
Reading through the thread highlights how this is not an isolated incident. This leads to the assumption that OnePlus is removing negative posts from its reviews section, and only show those that show its product in positive light.
A quick look at OnePlus’ US and UK online stores does indeed show up only the positive reviews, at least as far as the OnePlus 6T is concerned. A more thorough search does show some negative reviews, but they are mostly for the older products. We have reached out to OnePlus for a reaction on these accusations.
