OnePlus starts rolling out OxygenOS 4.5.5 update for the OnePlus 5

OnePlus has started rolling out the latest OxygenOS 4.5.5 update for the OnePlus 5. The latest OxygenOS update comes with optimization and fixes for Wi-Fi, voice calling and more. Since it is an over-the-air (OTA) update, it will take some time to reach all OnePlus 5 users. You can manually check for the update by heading over to Settings > System Update. The OxygenOS 4.5.5 update was announced on the OnePlus forum with the optimizations and bug fixes detailed. The update is 59MB in size and contains the Android security patch for May. In terms of optimizations, Wi-Fi connectivity on the OnePlus 5 gets further improvements. Voice calling will be made clearer now and the vibration intensity when receiving calls has been tuned to a gentler level. Video recording on the smartphone has also been optimized to consume less battery now.

The OxygenOS 4.5.5 brings bug fixes for the Wi-Fi signal which was consistently being displayed as weak. The update also brings fix for certain apps that do not work under the latest Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6). OnePlus 5 users who wish to restore connectivity to a PC running on Windows 10 PC, are advised to turn off USB debugging before upgrading to the OxygenOS 4.5.5. OnePlus 5 users had been facing certain bugs on their smartphones and the latest one appears to be on the stereo speakers. The left and right stereo speakers on the OnePlus 5 are reportedly giving reversed output if the smartphone s orientation is inverted. The left and right speakers on the OnePlus 5 do not adjust accordingly if the smartphone is changed from portrait mode to landscape mode. OnePlus is yet to respond to this issue.
