What is PeiCoin?
Built on the blockchain technology platform, PeiCoin will allow OnePlus users instant, no-fee transactions. One can mine it using the company’s own OxygenOS through a new opt-in feature. It is worth mentioning that reports have emerged about how miners have been discreetly using unsuspecting users’ computer or smartphone’s processing powers for mining the digital currency.
With OnePlus devices packing enormous amounts of RAM and advanced processors, OnePlus appears to officially allow users to start mining blocks solo or work together in pools and join the network of miners.
OnePlus goes on to explain that the user-driven mining will be trackable through PeiCoin Wallet which will be integrated with your OnePlus device. You can sign-up with your email address for updates on PeiCoin.
Now, the most interesting bit here is that OnePlus will be announcing the PeiCoin on April 1, 2018. That’s right, April Fools’ Day. While the whole web page, description, the language, and the founder’s personal video teaser appear authentic, we have all the reasons to not believe it completely.

Whether or not OnePlus actually introduces its PeiCoin tomorrow is something we will know as the clock strikes 12. Back in 2015, the company teased a drone, which it did release for real, we are not absolutely sure about the cryptocurrency bit though. Until then, you can use Amazon Alexa to learn more practical ways to prank your buddies this April Fools’ Day.
