OnePlus, the company that’s well known for manufacturing high specced smartphones with relatively affordable prices is on the verge of entering a new product category next month. Well, the obvious guesses would be a tablet, or a smartwatch. However, it seems the startup has been working on something else altogether.According to OnePlus co-founder and global director, Carl Pei, the company would announce a new product next month. He didn’t talk about the product but mentioned it won’t be a smartphone, tablet or smartwatch, PhoneArena reports. While the company is yet to come up with an update for its One smartphone, it is expected to launch only later in the second quarter or it could be pushed into the third quarter. The company is also reportedly working on a design focused smartphone. However, these two smartphones can be ruled out from next month’s announcements since it is not going to be a smartphone. If OnePlus were to take a leaf out of Xiaomi’s playbook, we could be looking at something like the YiCamera that was launched a couple of days ago. Or it could even be a fitness band like the MiBand. Other guess could include Bluetooth headsets, designer earphones or some other sort of wearables. Well, whatever the mystery product is, we will find out pretty soon.
