OnePlus is all geared to take wraps off the much-rumored OnePlus X in New Delhi tomorrow. In the run up to the launch event, the smartphone has been subjected to numerous leaks in the past few months. We’ve come across leaked screenshots that offered a glimpse at the design and build of the smartphone, and leaked benchmark results that shed more light on its specifications.
From what we have heard so far, the OnePlus X is expected to be priced in the mid-range bracket, approximately Rs 17,000. If there’s any truth to this, it could be the most affordable smartphone at launch in the company’s portfolio. OnePlus has also recently teamed up with Foxconn and announced its Make in India plans. So there are chances wherein the smartphone might be manufactured in India.
The OnePlus X could come with two major changes. Unlike the OnePlus One and the OnePlus 2, it could drop the sandstone back finish to make room for glass back design. Secondly, the newly introduced USB-Type C connector on the OnePlus 2 might not make its way to the OnePlus X. It may come with a microUSB port.
OnePlus X specifications and features: Based on the leaks, the OnePlus X could pack a 5-inch full HD (1080p) display with Gorilla Glass protection to keep scratches at bay. Under the hood, it could be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 processor, paired with 2GB or 3GB of RAM. The smartphone is expected to come with 16GB of onboard storage along with a microSD card slot for further expansion.
In terms of photography, OnePlus X could sport a 13-megapixel rear camera with an LED flash. We have also come across rumors that the OnePlus X might have some sort of dual-camera setup, with one of them being used for clicking photos, whereas the other would act as a depth sensor. For selfie lovers, the smartphone could come equipped with a 5-megapixel or an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.
It is expected to come with a 3,000mAh battery along with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 feature. Also, connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth and NFC are expected to be present. We will be present at the event to cover the launch tomorrow, till then, stay tuned!
