OPPO ‘5x Project’ to launch at MWC 2017; here's how to watch the live stream at 6:30 PM IST

Here’s how you can catch OPPO’s event live.

At the ongoing MWC 2017, OPPO is lining up for a big event. According to a recent hint dropped by OPPO, the Chinese company will be showcasing it ‘5x Project’, which is basically its new mobile camera technology. The OPPO event will go live today on February 27 at 6:30 PM IST. You can watch the live stream of the event here.

While even an hour ahead of the event, very little is known about the launch, recent OPPO press release suggested that its 5x smartphone photography technology will give users “unprecedented ability to capture highly detailed images.” Now that’s all that has been revealed about the project, it would be safe to assume that this new photography technology will be focused on high-resolution image processing. If its recent launches are anything to go by, this technology may also have something to do with clicking detailed selfies.

Recently, the vice-president of OPPO and managing director of International Mobile Business & President of OPPO India, Sky Li, was quoted as saying that the 5x technology will “change how the world perceives smartphone photography. This remarkable achievement is the result of an extensive, year-long R&D process, combined with OPPO’s unparalleled expertise in smartphone imaging technology. We chose MWC to unveil the ‘5x’ technology with the belief that we can inspire the industry to aim higher, and continue to create pioneering products that give amazing experiences to consumers.”

In its line-up of smartphones that have till now been seen, most of them are camera-centric, especially the front cameras. As seen in the Indian market, the company’s smartphones like the OPPO F1, OPPO F1 Plus and the OPPO F1s, all have their cameras has dominant feature. At last year’s MWC, the company had also unveiled SmartSensor image stabilization technology, which was not only the industry’s first sensor-based image stabilizer, but also among the smallest image stabilizers.
