Chinese smartphone maker Oppo has launched its latest smartphone, the Oppo A5 in China. The device is a budget smartphone aimed at people who are on a limited budget but want to use a smartphone with a good battery backup. According to GSMArena, the device comes with modest specs and is available on pre-order for 1,500 CNY which converts to Rs 15,528. The device will go on sale starting July 13 in China. The company has not revealed any details about India launch at the time of writing but it is possible that Oppo may bring it to the Indian market. Oppo A5 comes with a 6.2-inch LCD display with a notch with HD+ resolution (1,520×720 pixels) and 19:9 aspect ratio. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC with octa-core CPU clocked at 1.8GHz. Oppo has added 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage and a microSD card to expand the storage of the device. Moving at the back of the device, the company has added a dual camera setup with 13-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 2-megapixel secondary sensor with a f/2.4 aperture to detect the depth in portrait mode. Oppo A5 also comes with an 8-megapixel camera sensor on the front for selfies. The highlight of the device has to be the 4,230mAh battery that is likely to last the device more than a day on paper. Looking at the official renders of the device, it looks like Oppo is bringing the glossy diamond-like finish that it introduced with its Realme 1 in the Indian market.
Looking at the specifications and the pricing of the device, it looks like Oppo should have pushed down the price of the device a bit more considering its competition Xiaomi is offering more powerful devices with better specifications at a lower price.
