OPPO has launched a new smartphone called the A59 in China, which is priced at CNY 1,799 (approximately Rs 18,500). The smartphone boasts a full metal unibody design, and is quite thin as well with dimensions of 154.5x76x7.38mm. It is going on sale from June 18, and will be available in gold and rose gold colors. OPPO A59 specifications, features: The phone flaunts a 5.5-inch HD (720p) IPS display with a pixel density of 267ppi. It is powered by a 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6570 octa-core chipset paired with Mali-T860 GPU, and 3GB of RAM. Also on offer is 32GB of built-in storage, which can be further expanded using a microSD card. On the camera front, the smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and phase detection auto-focus (PDAF) support. Up front, there is a 5-megapixel selfie camera. The OPPO A59 also features a 3,075mAh battery, and a fingerprint scanner embedded into the home button.
Connectivity options include 4G LTE with VoLTE support, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, FM Radio, and a microUSB port with OTG support. On the software front, it runs on Android Lollipop 5.1 wrapped under the company’s ColorOS 3.0 UI.
While there is no word of a launch in India, OPPO is making waves here in India, and recently breached into the top-five list of smartphone vendors in India. It now garners a market share of 5.5 percent. Recently it launched the F1 Plus smartphone, priced at Rs 26,990.
