Oppo has announced the updated version of its A71 smartphone in Pakistan today. The Oppo A71 was first announced in September last year and the 2018 edition of the smartphone is expected to be launched soon in India as well. The Oppo A71 (2018) is listed on Oppo’s Pakistan website and boasts a few changes under the hood. According to a report on GSMArena, the smartphone carries price of PKR 19,899 (approximately Rs 11,400). It is available in color choices of gold and black. Oppo A71 specifications and features
The Oppo A71 (2018) continues to have the same appearance as its predecessor, but includes changes in the form of a Qualcomm processor at the core, albeit paired with lesser amount of RAM. It also runs the newer custom ColorOS 3.2 version as compared to the ColorOS 3.1 running in last year’s model.
The smartphone packs a 5.2-inch HD display. Under the hood, Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC with Adreno 506 GPU and eight Cortex-A53 core CPU is clocked at 1.8GHz. It is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.
For optics, it includes a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture. Up front, it is equipped with a 5-megapixel f/2.4 camera. It is fueled with a 3,000mAh battery. In terms of software, it now runs Android 7.1 Nougat-based ColorOS 3.2.
The new ColorOS version adds Oppo’s AI Beauty Recognition Technology which allows you to capture enhanced photos using a global image database to offer the most suitable beautify effect.
In comparison, the older model ran MediaTek MT675 SoC with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The use of Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC is expected to enhance performance. It should enable an improvement in app starting speed of 12.5 percent on average as compared to last year’s A71.
