Smartwatches have been catching some speed lately and all eyes will be on the Apple Watch that is expected to launch tonight at the company’s Spring Forward event. Other companies too are working on wearables, and Chinese company Oppo is said to be the latest to throw its hat in the ring.Unlike the smartwatches available today however, Oppo’s smartwatch is said to be able to fully charge in five minutes. As pointed out byGizChina, the five minutes of patience will reward the users with an entire day of battery life.
Battery life has been the bane of current smartwatches. Barring Pebble’s smartwatches, most of the wearables need to be charged on a daily basis. Oppo seems to be keen in creating a strong differentiating factor by turbo boosting the charging process. Oppo smartphones already come with the VOOC fast charging technology and the same may be incorporated on its smartwatch as well.
Not a lot is known about Oppo’s forthcoming smartwatch, and questions like what OS it will run on remain.
