Oppo has taken the wrap off its selfie-centric smartphone, the Oppo F1s. The smartphone is priced at Rs 17,990 and will be available starting August 11 via Amazon India and offline stores. The smartphone comes with a 16-megapixel front camera for selfie lovers. The smartphone features a picture enhancing software such as beautify along with several live color filters. The smartphone comes with a fingerprint scanner, which the company claims unlocks the phone in 0.22 seconds. The scanner is embedded on the home button on the front. The Oppo F1s is successor to the popular Oppo F1 Plus smartphone. Though the Oppo F1s is very similar to the F1 Plus in terms of design, there are some subtle changes as well. The flash is on the right hand side of the rear camera lens while the predecessor had the flash below the rear camera lens. The front camera lens has shifted from right corner to left corner in the Oppo F1s. The Oppo F1s is available in Gold and Grey color options. Oppo F1s specifications
The Oppo F1s comes with a 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720p) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It is powered by a MediaTek MT6750 64-bit octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM. Also on offer is a 32GB of expandable internal storage which can be further expanded to 128GB via microSD card.
The smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with PDAF, 1/3-inch sensor and a large f2.2 apertures. It has a 16-megapixel front-facing shooter with 78.1 degree wide-angle view, 1/3.1-inch sensor and a large f/2.0 aperture. It also features Beautify 4.0, Screen Flash and ISOCELL technology.
The device comes with a 3,075mAh battery which the company claims will give a backup of 14 hours. Connectivity options include triple-card slot tray for two nano SIM cards and an SD card, 4G, VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, OTG support and USB 2.0. The Oppo F1s runs ColorOS 3.0 based on Android Lollipop 5.1 out-of-the-box.
The smartphone will face tough competition from the likes of InFocus M535+ and Gionee F103 Pro. Both the smartphone are selfie focused and are priced at Rs 11,999 respectively. Asus’ Zenfone Selfie (16GB model), another selfie-centric smartphone, is available online for Rs 12,000 approximately.
