After series of leaks and revelations, OPPO will be finally launching its F3 smartphone today. The event is scheduled to take place at 12:30PM in Mumbai. Variant of the previously launched OPPO F3 Plus, the F3 is also believed to be a selfie-centric smartphone. The company will be live-streaming the launch event, you can watch it here. Although a lot of specifications and design elements have been leaked before, among the highlights of the smartphone is its dual camera on the front for an enhanced selfie experience. The feature which had been so far limited to the rear module has now been brought to the front thanks to companies such as OPPO and Vivo which are the current leaders in the selfie-centric smartphone market.
Based on the leaks, is it expected that the OPPO F3 will be available in a color choice of Rose Gold and Gold. Powering it will either be a MediaTek s MT6750T 64-bit octa-core processor with Mali-T860 GPU and 4GB of RAM or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 SoC with 4GB of RAM. It is yet to be seen which chipset OPPO prefers. In comparison, the OPPO F3 Plus boasts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 quad-core SoC with 4GB of RAM. Talking about the USP of the smartphone; the OPPO F3 is likely to pack a combination of 16-megapixel and 8-megapixel camera with 120-degree wide-angle view on the front. This combination works the same way as on the Vivo V5 Plus. In comparison, the OPPO F3 Plus is equipped with a 20-megapixel + 8-megapixel dual camera module on the front.
Other than the selfie-focused front camera, the OPPO F3 is expected to feature a 13-megapixel rear camera with video recording capabilities of up to 1080p. It is expected to be fuelled by a 3,200mAh battery. In terms of connectivity, the OPPO F3 could feature 4G VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and hybrid dual SIM (Nano + Nano).
