At an event in Mumbai today, Oppo launched a new selfie-centric smartphone, called F5. Successor to the Oppo F3, the new smartphone brings in nifty changes both in design and under the hood. The Oppo F5 has been launched in two variants 4GB RAM variant is priced at Rs 19,990, while the 6GB RAM variant is priced at Rs 24,990. The 4GB RAM variant will be available in gold and black colors, and will go on sale from November 9. The 6GB RAM variant, on the other hand, will be available in red and black colors, and will be going on sale sometime in December. The Oppo F5 will be available both online and offline. If you look at this year s flagship smartphones, right from the likes of Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6 to the Apple iPhone X, all of them feature edge-to-edge displays. Even the mid-range smartphones such as Micromax Canvas Infinity and the LG Q6 also feature a display with 18:9 aspect ratio. And now, the same continues with the Oppo F5 too. The Oppo F5 comes with a 6-inch full HD display running at a resolution of 2160 1080 pixels, and an aspect ratio of 18:9. Because of the tall display, Oppo has moved the fingerprint sensor to the back. Another highlight of the smartphone is the 20-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture. This is a slight upgrade from the 16-megapixel front camera on the Oppo F3.
This time around, the front camera is powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI), which examines every angle of your face to create the perfectly refined and natural selfie . At the back, the Oppo F5 comes with a 16-megapixel camera of f/1.8 aperture. In the software department, it runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with ColorOS 3.2 on top. Keeping the smartphone ticking is a 3,200mAh battery. Connectivity options on the smartphone include dual-SIM card support, 4G LTE with VoLTE HD voice calling, Bluetooth 4.2, and Wi-Fi.
