Oppo has sent out media invites for a launch event in India on November 2, where it is likely to launch the successor of Oppo F3 smartphone, the Oppo F5. Just like OnePlus, Oppo is likely to skip the “4-series” and will reportedly launch the Oppo F5. The invites don’t really reveal anything except the fact that the selfie-camera will be the main focus of the phone, like in the case of the F3. From what we can understand looking at the invite, it reveals a bezel-less screen for the smartphone with the tagline “Come capture the real you with Oppo’s Selfie Expert” written on it. Following the leads of Samsung, Nubia, Apple and for that matter Micromax, looks like Oppo might launch the F5 smartphone with a bezel-less display. Rumors mills have been hinting the Oppo F5 to feature a 6-inch display with an aspect ratio of 18:9, just like the LG G6 and Google Pixel 2 XL.
The top and bottom bezels are slim as compared to Oppo F3 with the dual front cameras placed on the top bezel. There is no home button up front. At the rear, the camera lens is placed on the top-left corner with a circular fingerprint sensor at the center. The camera still remains the highlight of the phone. From what we have been hearing so far, the Oppo F5 should sport a pair of 16-megapixel sensors on the front, and a 20-megapixel single camera at the back. In terms of other specifications, the device is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The smartphone could be fueled by a 4,000mAh battery.
In comparison, the Oppo F3 comes with a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display and is powered by a MediaTek MT6750T octa-core SoC clocked at 1.5GHz. It is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage. Oppo F3 also features a dual-selfies camera, where one is a 16-megapixel sensor and other is an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle selfie camera. There is a single 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF and an LED flash. Powering the smartphone is 3,200mAh battery. ALSO READ: Oppo F3 Review: The one for your selfies and groupfies
