Oppo recently introduced two of its latest F-series phones for the Indian market, the Oppo F9 and F9 Pro. The two phones are a part of the company’s upper mid-range offerings, with the Oppo F9 priced from Rs 19,990 and the Oppo F9 Pro priced at Rs 23,990 at launch. However, in order to boost sales ahead of the festive season in India, Oppo is offering a discount of Rs 1,000 on the Oppo F9.
According to a tweet by reliable Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom, the Oppo F9 will see a price drop to Rs 18,990 (a discount of Rs 1,000). While the tweet doesn’t mention for how long the discount will be in place, it does mention that the offer is for the Dussehra festival, suggesting that the offer will only be in place till October 19. The offer is only on the more affordable Oppo F9, and not the Oppo F9 Pro.
While the two phones are largely the same in terms of design, the differences are in key specifications. The Oppo F9 is a bit more affordable than the F9 Pro, but comes with 4GB of RAM (compared to 6GB RAM on the F9 Pro) and does not have the Oppo VOOC fast-charging standard supported out of the box. In terms of design, screen and the waterdrop notch, there’s very little to distinguish between the two phones.

The benefits of the F9 Pro have likely meant that the Oppo F9 isn’t seeing as many takers, which could be a reason for the price drop. The Oppo F9 and F9 Pro are available offline as well as online, through the company’s extensive network of dealers.
