Oppo is all set to launch its brand-new smartphone F9 on August 15. The handset has made a lot of waves online in the recent few weeks, particularly because of its unique waterdrop-style notch (like the one on the Essential Phone, only a bit smaller). One of the images clearly shows the waterdrop-shaped notch (housing the selfie camera) on the smartphone s front panel, with reduced side bezels and a thin chin on the bottom. Another image shows two Oppo F9 s and the smartphone s funky-looking gradient paint jobs Red Sunshine and Twilight. The rear panel of the Oppo F9 has an oval-shaped fingerprint sensor in the center of the upper half, with Oppo s logo just below it. At the top corner, there s a horizontal dual-camera setup and LED flash, both of which are surrounded by a common Chrome-plated periphery.
Interestingly, Oppo has already published renders and hardware specs of the F9 on its Vietnamese website. According to the details on Oppo Vietnam, the F9 will have a 6.3-inch FullHD+ display. The smartphone is expected to be powered by a MediaTek Helio P60 octa-core chipset, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of on-board storage. The smartphone will have a dual-camera system at the back, comprised of a 16MP sensor and a 2MP sensor. Up front, it ll have a 25MP (with some AI capabilities) shooter for selfies and video calls.

The smartphone will run Oppo s Color OS UI overlay, most likely baked over Android 8.1 Oreo. The dual-SIM smartphone will also have Oppo s proprietary VOOC fast-charging standard for the 3,500mAh batter, with the company claiming two hours of use with just a five-minute charge.
