The Oppo F9 Pro will be launched in India on August 21, with Oppo sending out invites to the launch event. After reports that the Chinese smartphone maker would only be launching the Oppo F9 Pro in India, it is now confirmed that just one device will be launched at the event. We don’t have confirmed specifications of either of these two devices yet, and more will be known when the phone is launched in China on August 15.
The Oppo F9 Pro has had some of its features teased already, including VOOC Flash Charge, the ‘waterdrop’ notch design, the gradient colored back and the dual-camera setup. The phone is the successor to the Oppo F7, which was launched just a few months ago in April.
The new phone has been teased for some time now, and is part of the F-series from Oppo which is touted as selfie-centric, with better features attached to the front camera. The ‘waterdrop’ notch will sport only the front camera on it, with the earpiece and sensors likely embedded under the screen.
Oppo F9 Pro Expected Specifications
The Oppo F9 Pro is likely to be powered by MediaTek Helio P60 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz coupled with an ARM Mali-G72 MP3 GPU clocked at 800MHz. The phone could come in two storage variants – a 4GB RAM variant with 64GB storage and a 6GB RAM variant with 128GB storage. On the camera front, it is expected to feature dual rear camera setup stacked horizontally at the top left corner of the device.
