Oppo has been teasing its new F9 and F9 Pro smartphones for some time now, and reports suggest that India could get just the Oppo F9 Pro. Now, in the build up to the phone’s global launch, Oppo has released a new teaser video that goes into the details of its design, features and VOOC fast charging standard. The video was released on the company’s YouTube channel, and also shows off the dual-camera setup and ‘waterdrop’ notch for the front camera.
While more specifications are yet to be confirmed, the Oppo F-series usually tends to be front-camera focused, targeting buyers that are looking for better selfie cameras. The phone is the successor to the Oppo F7, which has a 25-megapixel front camera and 16-megapixel rear camera. On the Oppo F9 Pro, we see a dual-camera setup at the back, and the front camera within a small, specially designed notch at the top. The design also maximizes the screen area.

Apart from the front, the back of the phone also sees some interesting design language, with what is referred to in the video as gradient color, through a texture that shows different colors depending on the lighting and angles. And finally, the Oppo F9 Pro will also be sporting VOOC Flash Charge, which is the company’s latest version of its VOOC fast charging standard.
According to the video, five minutes of charging on the VOOC standard will ensure up to two hours of talk time. As per our experience with VOOC charging, you get a zero to 100 percent charge in just over one hour, and the new standard will likely improve on that charging speed a bit.
There is no firm word on exactly when the phone will go on sale in India, but it is expected to be soon. The Oppo F9 Pro could be priced at around the Rs 30,000 mark, and will be available both online and offline in India, as is usually the case with key launches by Oppo.
