Oppo teased the launch of its next flagship, Oppo F9 on the Twitter page of its Malaysian unit yesterday. The phone was expected to come alongside a Pro variant and now, the company has inadvertently confirmed the existence of the device.
The official teaser for Oppo F9 Pro has surfaced online, which reveals a triangle-shaped notch and support for VOOC charging. The teaser says that 5 minutes of charging will result into 2 hours worth talktime with VOOC charging. The first official image leaked online shows the Oppo F9 Pro will have dual cameras on the back and sport a horizontal layout. The color of the back panel seems red with gradient design that will change from reddish hue to pink and violet depending on how you hold the device.
It is still not confirmed whether Oppo for going for a light-based effect or a static pattern reflecting these colors. The most intriguing part of the device is the front notch which is notch as wide as Oppo F7 and not circular notch like Essential Phone. The notch is basically reminiscent of a water droplet curving around the front-facing camera.
This particular notch is identical to the one seen with the teaser of Oppo F9, which leaked yesterday. The leaked image also gives away additional information like the side bezels will be almost non-existent and it will have a chin that would be identical to its predecessor. The fingerprint scanner should be placed at the rear of the device.

The highlight of these two devices will be support for VOOC, which is Oppo’s version of fast charging for its smartphones. While the feature has been reserved for the premium R-series and the Find series in the past, the company seems to be expanding it to mid-range devices like the Oppo F series as well. Like Dash Charge on OnePlus, Oppo’s VOOC supports a total output of 20W and is capable of charging the smartphone to half the battery in 30 minutes.
