Oppo Find 7: Price, Specifications, Features and Competition

oppo-find-7-hands-onChinese smartphone vendor Oppo kicked off its India operations earlier this year and has since then launched a host of smartphones including the flagship Find 7. Like other Chinese smartphone vendors in the country like Gionee, Oppo s mantra too seems to be offer customers good quality hardware and top-end specs at an aggressive pricing tier one companies cannot match. The company is also serious about its brand image and has hired Hrithik Roshan and Sonam Kapoor as its brand ambassadors. Oppo Find 7 price in India

The Find 7 has been priced at Rs 37,990 in India. The pricing is quite competitive, especially when compared to other flagship devices with similar specifications. These flagship devices from tier-one companies are priced upwards of Rs 40,000.

Oppo Find 7 hardware

oppo-find-7-hands-on (2)Display This is one of the talking points of the smartphone. While LG recently launched the G3 boasting a QHD display, Oppo s Find 7 is credited with being the first smartphone to flaunt a display with such a high resolution. The 5.5-inch display on the Find 7 boasts a QHD resolution, which at 2560×1440 pixels, has four times the resolution of a HD display and almost twice the resolution of a full HD display. The display has a pixel density of a staggering 534ppi, which seems light years ahead when compared to some other flagship devices like the HTC One (M8) (441ppi), Samsung Galaxy S5 (431ppi) and the Sony Xperia Z2 (424ppi). Oppo has also protected the display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Processor There is plenty of power at hand as the device is powered by a Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz. Also included is 3GB of RAM, which should ensure that the smartphone takes everything you throw at it in its stride.

Storage You get massive 32GB of internal storage of which around 23GB is available to users. If for some reason that is not enough, Oppo has also included a microSD card slot, which can be used to expand the storage up to 128GB.

oppo-find-7-hands-on (5)Cameras This is another one of the talking points on the Find 7. While on paper the device only features a 13-megapixel rear camera, it is what the camera can do that is really interesting. The camera is accompanied by dual-LED flash and features a Sony IMX214 CMOS chip and f/2.0 lens. It has the ability to record videos at 4K resolution and includes an interesting feature called Super Zoom, which essentially clicks 10 photos and merges them into a single 50-megapixel image.

For selfie lovers, Oppo has included a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

Battery There is a 3,000mAh battery included, which on paper looks like it should be enough to last more than a day on a single charge.

Oppo Find 7 software

This is one department the device lags behind when compared to its rivals. Where tier one flagship devices come with Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box, the Find 7 still runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. There is currently no word on when Oppo plans on updating its device to the latest version of Android. The operating system on the device is wrapped under Oppo s ColorOS 1.2 UI, which includes a number of preloaded apps and software tweaks.

Oppo Find 7 comparison

As has been mentioned above, the Find 7 will be in direct competition with the LG G3, which is another device that boasts a QHD display. The LG G3 however is yet to be launched in India. With high-end specs, the Find 7 will also be up against other flagship devices currently available in the country that includes the HTC One (M8), Sony Xperia Z2 and the Samsung Galaxy S5.
