Alongside the Find 7 smartphone, Oppo today also launched the Find 7a smartphone which essentially is the company s downgraded version of the Find 7. On the specifications front, it flaunts a 5.5-inch 1080p display with 401ppi, instead of the QHD display used on the Find 7. The display is again protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The hardware comprises of the Find 7-like Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor, however the company has lowered its clock speed to 2.3GHz. On the memory front too, the company has reduced the RAM size to 2GB of RAM and internal storage space to 16GB, from 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory seen on the Find 7.

The cameras on the Find 7a remain the same as what you get on the Find 7, which are a 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front-facing cameras. Other features in the phone include of a microSD card slot, a 2,800mAh battery, and connectivity options like 3G support, NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS/AGPS. The phone runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean wrapped under the company s ColorOS UI.

At this price point and wit such specifications, the phone will compete against the likes of Lenovo Vibe Z, which comes a 5.5-inch 1080p display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and is powered by 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (not expandable). It sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and f1.8 aperture lens, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Connectivity options include 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0. The phone has recently been upgraded to Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The Vibe Z is priced at 34,999.
