Apple blinks first, ends stand-off with TRAI
In a stand-off that could have led to the mobile network deactivation of millions of Apple iPhone devices in India, telecom regulator TRAI comes out on top. Apple has agreed to develop an app for iPhones that complies with TRAI’s DND regulations, and the app will be rolled out to users before the Diwali festive season this year.
Samsung Galaxy Note 9 pricing leaked
An Indonesian poster for the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 has been leaked, which carries not only details of two storage variants of the phone, but also the pricing for the variants in Indonesia. The phone is said to be priced around Rs 64,400 for the 128GB variant and Rs 83,500 for the 512GB variant.

Oppo Find X pre-orders begin
The Oppo Find X goes up for pre-order today, and interested buyers can register on Flipkart or the Oppo web store to buy the phone. The phone is priced at Rs 59,990 and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, and features 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
Samsung Days Sale
The Samsung Days sale on Amazon India goes into its last couple of days, and offers buyers a chance to buy a new Samsung smartphone with benefits of up to Rs 10,700. Various Samsung smartphones and devices, including the Samsung Galaxy On7 Prime, Samsung Galaxy A8+ and more are available during the sale.
Airtel Rs 597 Prepaid Plan
A new prepaid plan from Airtel, priced at Rs 597, offers long validity and truly unlimited voice calls all over India, with no FUP. The plan also comes with 10GB of data, 100 SMS per day and 168 days validty, and is designed to take on Reliance Jio’s similar long-validity plans, but with a focus on feature phone users.
Blackberry Evolve, Evolve X India Launch
Although the Blackberry Key2 was just launched, it seems that Blackberry licensee in India Optiemus Infracom has another launch planned. The Blackberry Evolve and Evolve X are likely to be launched in India on August 2, and are expected to be re-branded versions of the Blackberry Ghost and Ghost Pro.
Fortnite for Android to be supported on select Android smartphones
Fortnite for Android is expected to launch next month exclusively with the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, and then will roll out to more phones in September. However, the game is likely to not be made available widely through the Google Play Store, and will be supported on a limited number of Android smartphones to start with.
