Last month, Oppo hosted an event in Paris to launch its flagship smartphone, the Find X. With a beautiful design, top-of-the-line hardware, dual cameras and more, the smartphone brings some interesting innovations to the table. The Find X is priced at Rs 59,990, and will go on sale exclusively via Flipkart starting August 3. With a premium price tag, comes premium features too. Here’s a look at seven key features of the Oppo Find X.
Gorgeous metal and glass design
Since last year, a majority of flagship smartphones have switched from full metal unibody to metal and glass design. This includes the likes of Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S9, Galaxy Note 8, Apple iPhone X, iPhone 8, and OnePlus 6 among others. The Oppo Find X follows the suit, and features a metal frame sandwiched between front and back glass design.
The back is slightly curved to offer a perfect grip when holding the smartphone. The metal frame comes in shiny color options — Bordeaux Red and Glacier Blue, and both of them look gorgeous.
Watch: Oppo Find X First Look
Apple offered a near full-screen experience on the iPhone X, but it was criticized for the infamous notch. Soon, other manufacturers also followed the trend by adding a notch on the display, but Vivo and Oppo found a way to deal with it and offer a true full screen experience. The Find X comes with 93.8 percent screen-to-body ratio, offering you the maximum screen real estate. It is equipped with a 6.42-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio.
Motorized sliding cameras
The ‘notch’ on most smartphones embed the proximity and ambient light sensors, and the front camera. Oppo moved all of that into a motorized sliding mechanism, that does away with the notch. The sliding cameras are usually hidden, and when you open the camera app, the cameras pop-up using the sliding mechanism.
Dual rear cameras
For shutterbugs, there is a dual-camera setup hidden in the back side of the slider. The setup includes a pair of 16-megapixel and 20-megapixel sensors, along with features such as Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), and AI-assisted portrait mode along with screen recognition.
Oppo hasn’t compromised on the specifications. The Find X is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC with octa-core CPU, 8GB of RAM and 256GB onboard storage. And it is as powerful as other flagship smartphones in the market. On the software front, it runs Android 8.1 Oreo with colorOS 5.0 skin on top.
3D Face Recognition
Oppo also did away with the fingerprint sensor, and just like the iPhone X, it is relying on the 3D Face Scanning technology for face unlock. You get a 25-megapixel front camera along with Oppo’s O-Face Recognition feature. It uses an IR sensor with 15,000 dot projection to analyze and recognize your face.
VOOC fast charging
To keep things ticking, the Find X is armed with a 3,730mAh battery along with Oppo’s VOOC fast charging technology. Oppo says, even five minutes of charging can offer up to two-hours of talktime.
