Oppo Find X to rival Vivo NEX
Chinese smartphone maker Oppo will rival Vivo NEX’s full-screen experience with Find X smartphone. The flagship smartphone is scheduled to launch on June 19 and a new teaser shows that it will have a full-screen experience similar to that of Vivo NEX.
The Oppo Find X is already confirmed to use Snapdragon 845 along with 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage. The smartphone will feature the periscope-style camera supporting 5x lossless zoom.
Samsung Galaxy S10 may ditch the earpiece
Samsung Galaxy S10, the next flagship smartphone in the Galaxy series, could follow-up on the footstep of Vivo NEX, by adopting displays that emit sound. With smartphones getting rid of bezels, the companies have been trying for new ways to embed sensors within the devices.
Now, Vivo has shown a path forward by creating a notch-less smartphone that puts all the sensors beneath the display. Samsung is said to be developing AMOLED displays that will do the same. Samsung ditching the earpiece is fine till the time they don’t ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack.
LG G7 ThinQ gets Pixel’s AR Stickers
LG G7 ThinQ has become the first smartphone to receive Google Pixel’s AR stickers. The AR Stickers feature has been exclusive to Google’s Pixel 2 smartphones since it was announced nearly six months ago. This is the first time Google is expanding the feature beyond its Pixel devices.
The AR Stickers take advantage of Google’s ARCore platform and involves experiences like Star Wars and Stranger Things characters. It is not a deal breaker but a fun experience within the camera application.
BSNL offers 4GB data per day at Rs 149
BSNL has been the leader when it comes to challenging Reliance Jio. The state-owned telecom player has launched a new Rs 149 plan that offers 4GB data per day. The new plan offers 112GB data for a period of 28 days, which translates to Rs 1.33 per GB.
The plan will be available starting June 14 and shows how the battle for data supremacy is heating among telecom players. In the past few months, BSNL has revised its plans to compete with Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and others.
Samsung Galaxy Note 9 launching in early August
Samsung Galaxy Note 9, the successor to Galaxy Note 8, is expected to launch early in August. Bloomberg had reported that the smartphone will debut at an event in New York on August 9, weeks ahead of IFA 2018 in Berlin.
The Galaxy Note 9 is expected to feature a larger 6.4-inch display and retain the horizontal dual camera system. It will also feature a repositioned fingerprint sensor and beefy 4,000mAh battery. Samsung might be returning to its roots with the next Galaxy Note smartphone.
